Nauseous ✡️🌻✡️🌻✡️ 🤯🤡🤦‍♂️

It’s 2 AM as I write this, Pennsylvania just was called for Trump, and I can’t sleep.  I’d rather write this then listen to the 🤡 who is about to speak to his MAGA crowd so here goes.  It’s not just Trump’s victory, it’s also the Senate which has flipped into Republican hands and may be even redder come morning as a few more Democratic Senators get swept out by Trump’s red wave. There’s still a chance that the House will flip to blue, a possible ray of sunshine during what is likely to be a an otherwise dreadful era,  but we probably won’t know for some time since many California ballots are still in the mail. The bottom line is it’s going to be a long four years and then some, though as MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out last night, one third of the Senate will be up for reelection in two years so there’s that.  Of course, by then Trump with the help of his Republican Senate will almost certainly have replaced two of the oldest Conservative Justices with two MAGA diehards in diapers and that doesn’t even take into consideration that Sonia Sotomayor is no spring chicken. He’ll almost certainly have disrupted or tried really hard to disrupt the world order and a number of former Soviet Republics might find themselves once again controlled by Putin. On the domestic front, I guess we’re about to find out if he plans to keep his promise to handover health care to RFK Jr, I am not convinced he will because his promises are worth little but then again, Trump is really good at proving me wrong. Lastly, that great economy he’s been handed, we’re about to find out if it can withstand tariffs, mass deportation, and Elon Musk’s drastic budget and personnel cuts. Who and what’s to blame for this mess, it’s probably due to some combination of a COVID hangover, together with lots of lots of deluded people voting against their own interests including a lot of white men and women and Hispanics, all of whom think that the Apprentice guy’s tax cuts will benefit them rather than his wealthy friends and all those oligarch wannabees, and also some upset about Gaza who don’t get they he cares nothing about Gazans though he wouldn’t mind taking over their beaches.  Also, let’s not forget racism and sexism, I know we’ve had a Black president, but so many in Trump’s thrall seem triggered by the thought of another one, especially one who’s a woman.   

Tomorrow, I’ll start the day with a dog walk followed by a long run because that will help a little. Then, who knows. Does anyone know of any countries that welcome immigrants with doodles?  Major sigh, scream, or whatever.  🤯🤦‍♂️
